GID and our affiliated groups (Managers, Hygienists and Nurses), provide mutual support and guidance in the ever-changing world of dentistry. We achieve this by delivering face to face study days of exceptional standard, supported by related trade fairs. Each group has a bespoke programme specific for their knowledge and development, although where appropriate, we will unite groups in order for everyone to benefit.
Membership to all the GID groups is open to all dental care professionals who either work or live in Gloucestershire. Click here to start your registration process. If you live outside the county, please contact us as we are able to accept additional members at the discretion of our committee.
As a GID member you have access to one of the best postgraduate programmes available in the country. We attract internationally renowned speakers covering a full range of clinical and allied topics and we ensure the GDC core subjects are delivered every five years as required by current regulations. Our membership fees are extremely competitive, especially in comparison to usual daily delegate rates. All our planned courses for all groups can be viewed here.
Following submission of your details you will receive notification that your registration has been approved and you will be able to login in. Dentist, Hygienist and Manager members are required to sign up to a monthly direct debit, Nurses are registered and then asked to pay for individual courses attended. Members can book future courses at their leisure.
Membership to our group also entitles you to excellent deals for materials, consumables and services through our preferred dealer – Wrights. Wrights supports GID with a personalised service across many areas including products, money saving ideas, CPD training, service, engineering support, and much more.
GID also runs a variety of social events, and we like to mark the special occasions too. These to date have included, annual wine tastings, golf days, clay pigeon shooting days and the celebratory balls.
We appreciate joining a new “club” can be apprehensive, especially if you’re new to the area and haven’t yet met a fellow member, or maybe you live out of county but are interested in one particular speaker. Therefore, we continue to welcome non-members to attend meetings. The fees for non-members are:
Dentists £345, Nurses £60, Hygienists £80, Managers £80.
All events take place at the prestigious Cheltenham Racecourse (on non-race days!).
This is a fantastically spacious venue with free on-site parking and is a fully catered day. The day starts with tea/coffee and bacon rolls/pastries, there are morning and afternoon breaks with hot and cold drinks and nibbles. This all takes place in the around the trade stands which means no-one has to leave a good conversation to keep up with the latest materials and equipment.
Other than the main event itself, the highlight is often the seated 2-course lunch, (hot and cold multiple options available); participants and speakers are seated all together in the stunning 5th floor Panoramic Suite, quite a luxury and an amazing view.
It really is one of the most top class CPD venues in the country.
Please contact us if you have any questions, we would be delighted to help.
The GID committee is a small group of like-minded members, who represent our members. They are responsible for the entire running of the GID group and work closely with our preferred sponsors to deliver all the benefits GID has to offer. Each group also has a dedicated leader(s) who manage and offer a point of contact for its members.
The majority of the committee work on a voluntary basis, on top of regular jobs and outside normal working hours; we will endeavour to reply as soon as possible and help you with your enquiry. Thank you for your patience and understanding in getting back to you!
